Our take
The BDB-1340A is a 13 x 40 belt-drive lathe with a D1-4 spindle, a 1-3/8 in. bore and a quick-change gearbox for inch and metric threads. It's a lathe you grow into, not out of.
It comes ready to turn: 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, a faceplate, and steady and follow rests are in the crate. Budget separately for the stand, a quick-change tool post and tooling.

Freight, returns and warranty
Freight and delivery
Machines over about 150 lb ship by freight truck to the curb; smaller ones ship by parcel carrier. For freight, the carrier calls to set a delivery window, and liftgate and residential delivery can be added to your order. Inspect the crate before you sign, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and report it within 48 hours. We file the freight claim.
Returns
Return terms for this machine are set by the manufacturer and confirmed before you order. Returns need a return authorization. Non-defective returns carry a restocking fee and return freight.
