Our take

The Multimatic 220 AC/DC is MIG, stick and full AC/DC TIG in one 56 lb machine. For a small shop that welds steel most days and aluminum some days, it replaces two or three separate welders.

It comes ready to run all three processes: MIG gun, TIG torch with foot control, stick holder and two regulators are in the box. It runs on 120V or 240V with the included plugs.

The tradeoff is duty cycle at full output. For long heavy passes, a dedicated machine runs longer before it needs to cool.

Before you buy

Will it run in your shop?

  • Ships with MVP plugs for 120V (NEMA 5-15P) and 240V (NEMA 6-50P).
  • Peak input draw is 31.3 A (stick, 240V). Use a 240V 6-50R welder circuit for full output.
  • Full output on a generator of 10,000 W or more (Miller).

Freight, returns and warranty

Freight and delivery

Machines over about 150 lb ship by freight truck to the curb; smaller ones ship by parcel carrier. For freight, the carrier calls to set a delivery window, and liftgate and residential delivery can be added to your order. Inspect the crate before you sign, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and report it within 48 hours. We file the freight claim.

Returns

Return terms for this machine are set by the manufacturer and confirmed before you order. Returns need a return authorization. Non-defective returns carry a restocking fee and return freight.

Warranty

Miller True Blue: 3 years parts and labor on the welder; 90 days parts on the MIG gun

Manufacturer warranty terms are linked below. Some brands only cover machines bought from an authorized dealer, so we'll confirm coverage on this machine before you order. If something goes wrong, we'll help you start the claim.
