Our take
The Millermatic 211 PRO is a dual-voltage MIG welder built for the kind of work most small shops do: brackets, frames, trailer repair, gates and general fab in mild steel.
On a regular 120V outlet it welds up to 3/16 in. steel. Swap the plug (no tools) and run it on a 240V welder circuit, and it reaches 3/8 in. That makes it a good first machine for a shop that will add a 240V circuit later.
Auto-Set picks starting voltage and wire speed from wire size and material thickness, and you can fine-tune from there. Add a Spoolmate spool gun and straight argon and it welds aluminum too.
Before you buy
Will it run in your shop?
- Plugs into a standard 120V outlet (NEMA 5-15P) or a 240V welder outlet (NEMA 6-50P). Swap plugs without tools.
- Draws 27 A at rated output on 120V, so a dedicated 20 A circuit is the practical setup.
- Full output needs a 240V welder circuit with a 6-50R receptacle.
- Runs at full output on a generator of 8,000 W or more (Miller).
